My name is Dr. Eunice Itabiyi, DNP, PMHNP-BC. I graduated from Maryville University in Missouri. I chose the medical field because it allows me to combine a deep interest in science with a meaningful desire to help others. From an early age, I was drawn to understanding how the human body and mind work, finding purpose in using that knowledge to support people during their most vulnerable moments. Medicine offered a clear path to making a real, lasting difference. Mental health, in particular, stood out to me as an area of need where compassion and communication are as important as clinical skills. I’ve witnessed how mental illness can quietly yet profoundly impact every part of a person’s life and how good care can restore hope and function. Becoming a mental health-focused nurse practitioner has allowed me to sit at the intersection of science and humanity, offering care that is both evidence-based and deeply personal. The medical field continues to challenge and inspire me. It requires lifelong learning, critical thinking, and emotional resilience, all of which I value. But above all, I chose this path because it gives me the chance to advocate for those who are often unheard, to promote healing, and to play a small part in improving lives every day. For me, medicine isn’t just a profession; it’s a commitment to service, growth, and empathy
I focus on mental healthcare with a specialization in Anxiety, Depression, ADHD/ADD, Substance Use Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and PTSD.
